First Wild Card–“Last Mango In Texas”

It is time for a FIRST Wild Card Tour book review! If you wish to join the FIRST blog alliance, just click the button. We are a group of reviewers who tour Christian books. A Wild Card post includes a brief bio of the author and a full chapter from each book toured. The reason it is called a FIRST Wild Card Tour is that you never know if the book will be fiction, non~fiction, for young, or for old…or for somewhere in between! Enjoy your free peek into the book!

You never know when I might play a wild card on you!

Rhonda’s Review: What do you do when you inherit 800 acres of oil-filled West Texas dirt and the woman you love is a bird-loving, oil-hating environmentalist? Not exactly the match made in heaven, but is it? That’s what Kyle Mango has to decide for himself.

Ray Blackston takes readers on a hilarious ride of the ups and downs of young romance. His settings and scenes are expertly written. He even nailed the airport scene with disgruntled passengers. The characters are quirky and not what you’d expect. They lend the book a freshness and wackiness that makes it work. This is one of the most fun books I’ve read in a while. Expect to see this one in my top books of 2009, and Ray Blackston on my reading list again.
